Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 9 October 2026

These terms set out the agreement between you and Cowchow when you use our website, dashboard, and mobile app. We've kept them as short and plain as we can. Please read them before using the service. If anything is unclear, email us at hello@cowchow.io.

1. Who we are

#

Cowchow is operated by Cowchow Labs Ltd. ("Cowchow", "we", "us"), a company registered in Ireland.

  • Registered address: Ballycleary, Kilmore, Wexford, Y35 XW50, Ireland
  • Company registration number (CRO): 810807
  • Contact: hello@cowchow.io

2. Accepting these terms

#

By creating an account, joining a farm as an operator, or otherwise using Cowchow, you agree to these terms. If you are using Cowchow on behalf of a farm business, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms on its behalf.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Cowchow. How we handle your personal data is described separately in our Privacy Policy.

3. The service

#

Cowchow is a total mixed ration (TMR) guide for dairy and beef farms. It lets farm owners manage cow groups, ingredients, and diets through the dashboard at dashboard.cowchow.io, and lets your farm team log feedings through the mobile app.

We are continually improving Cowchow, so features may be added, changed, or removed over time. If we remove a feature that is material to a paid plan, we will give you reasonable notice.

4. Accounts

#

4.1 Farm owners

#

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account. Please give us accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date. Tell us straight away if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.

4.2 Your farm team

#

The farm owner decides who can access the farm. Owners can invite managers and nutritionists by email and operators with a join code; managers can invite nutritionists and operators. The owner is responsible for everyone given access.

Team members use Cowchow on behalf of the farm. Feeding logs and other records they create belong to the farm, not to them personally.

5. Subscription, trial, and payment

#

Setting up a farm in Cowchow is free. To use the feeding features (the feeding schedule, rations on the phone, and logging feedings), the farm owner needs an active subscription. Each farm has one subscription, held by its owner.

  • Free trial. A new subscription starts with a 30-day free trial. You enter a card when the trial starts. Unless you cancel before it ends, the trial converts to the plan you chose and your card is charged. Each person gets one free trial, including if they later set up another farm.
  • Prices are shown on the billing page before you subscribe. Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., and by subscribing you also agree to Stripe's terms for the payment itself.
  • Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
  • Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from the dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep the feeding features until then. Afterwards your farm and its history stay in Cowchow and you can still view them. Subscribing again restores feeding.
  • Deleting your farm ends its subscription immediately, on the day you delete it, and permanently removes the farm's data.
  • No refunds. Except where the law requires it, we do not refund any part of a billing period, including when you cancel, or when you delete your farm or your account.
  • Failed payments. If a payment fails, you keep access while our payment provider retries it. If it still fails, the subscription ends and feeding is locked until you subscribe again. Your data is kept.

We may change our prices. If a change affects your subscription, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you can cancel before then if you don't want to continue.

6. Feed guidance is not professional advice

#

Cowchow helps you plan and record rations. It is a tool to support your decisions, not a replacement for your own judgement or for advice from a qualified nutritionist, agronomist, or veterinarian.

The output of Cowchow depends on the information you enter, including ingredient values, group sizes, and quantities. You are responsible for checking that the diets you feed are suitable for your animals, and for the health and welfare of your herd.

7. Your data

#

The farm data you create in Cowchow (cow groups, ingredients, diets, feeding logs, and similar records) belongs to you. You give us permission to store and process it only as needed to provide and support the service.

You can delete your farm and its data at any time: the farm alone from the dashboard, or your whole account, farm included, from the app or the dashboard. Details of how we handle deletion and retention are in our Privacy Policy.

8. Acceptable use

#

When using Cowchow, you agree not to:

  • Break any law or infringe anyone else's rights
  • Try to access accounts, farms, or data that are not yours
  • Interfere with, overload, or try to disrupt the service or its security
  • Reverse engineer, copy, or resell the service, except where the law allows it
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the service

If you do, we may suspend or close your account. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to put things right.

9. Our intellectual property

#

Cowchow's software, design, branding, and content are owned by Cowchow Labs Ltd. or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service in line with these terms. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to you.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve Cowchow without any obligation to you.

10. Availability

#

We work hard to keep Cowchow running reliably, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may need to take the service offline for maintenance, and it may be affected by things outside our control, such as outages at our hosting providers or on your mobile network.

The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we do not give any warranties beyond those set out in these terms.

11. Limitation of liability

#

To the extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, revenue, production, livestock, or business opportunity.
  • Our total liability to you for any claim relating to Cowchow is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Irish law.

12. Ending your use of Cowchow

#

You can stop using Cowchow at any time. To close your account, follow the steps on our Delete your account page. If you own a farm, deleting your account deletes the farm too.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms. If we decide to discontinue Cowchow altogether, we will give you at least 30 days' notice so you can request a copy of your data.

13. Changes to these terms

#

We may update these terms from time to time and will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects you, we'll email account holders at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Cowchow after that, you accept the updated terms. If you don't agree, you can cancel your subscription or delete your account.

14. Governing law

#

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, you keep any mandatory protections given to you by the law of the country where you live.
